The Winnipeg Jets are heading back to the postseason.

Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck sealed the deal after recording a game-winning save on Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg in the shootout. The playoff berth is Winnipeg’s second since returning to the city in 2011.

Hockey fans were ecstatic after the victory, congratulating the team and expressing their excitement to watch them play in April. No response was better than Jets captain Blake Wheeler's, though, who reminded the hockey world that one of the greatest playoff traditions in hockey will go down in BellMTS Place in just a few short weeks.

Jets fan or not, that one had to have given you chills.

If you’re unaware of what the Whiteout is, it’s a Winnipeg tradition that dates back to 1986, when fans were asked to wear white attire to playoff games. It was created in response to the Calgary Flames’ “C of Red” and has been used by the team ever since.

With the organization looking like they’re going to clinch home ice advantage for the first round, you can expect to see a whole bunch of white in Winnipeg in the weeks to come.

The MTS Centre is going to be bonkers.
