With the lack of crowds at games over the past year, the traditional 7th inning stretch and the singing of ‘Take Me Out To The Ballgame’ are things we haven’t witnessed since before the pandemic started. Since it was a special day for Cubs fans and all of Wrigleyville, the team brought out legendary comedian and actor Bill Murray for one of baseball’s greatest traditions.
Murray got the crowd riled up even more and it was the spark the Cubs needed as they went on to score three combined runs in the 7th and 8th innings to win the game 8-5.
New Bears quarterback Justin Fields also got his first taste of a sold-out Cubs game and Chicago sports fans and it’s safe to say they’re already huge fans of their young QB.
The stands were packed on a Friday afternoon and the W was flying at Wrigley Field after the game. Nature truly is healing.
