Bianca Andreescu captured the heart of just about every Canadian over the past week after the 19-year-old Mississauga native defeated Serena Williams in the women’s final at the US Open to become the first Canadian to ever win a Grand Slam singles title.

From Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Shania Twain, Canadians everywhere congratulated Andreescu on her incredible run and the messages are still rolling in as Drake recently reached out to her to congratulate her, as well.

On Wednesday, the celebrations continued in a different way as a law was passed in Mississauga to name a street after the 2019 US Open women’s champion.

Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie shared the news on Wednesday afternoon, and she’s also hinted at holding a rally in honour of Andreescu which would most likely involve handing the tennis star the key to the city.

A lot of people have pointed out that 'Andreescu Court' would make more sense, but Mayor Crombie explained why they went with 'Way' instead.

It’s awesome to see the support for Bianca continue to grow across the country and she’s only getting started.
