Ben Askren’s performance this past Saturday was short, and not so sweet at UFC 239.

The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native was the subject of the quickest knockout in the sport’s history when opponent Jorge Masvidal laid the hammer with a majestic flying kick. Askren went down like a sack of potatoes and to make matters worse, he was forced to watch Masvidal taunt him in front of the sold out crowd at T-Mobile Arena. Askren was okay afterward however, and even managed to make some light of the situation on Twitter.

You can say he was blunt with his post-fight comments.

For reference, here’s the knockout… Ouch.

As for Masvidal? He made sure to get in a few words of his own afterward as well.

The knockout officially became the fastest in UFC history, eight years after Duane Ludwig’s six second KO in 2011. These situations are rare but hey, at least Ben was a good sport about it!
