Round 2 of the NHL playoffs gets underway Thursday night and we're going to ring in the second round with another special edition of our Mascot Power Rankings.
The last edition of the rankings we did was before the first round of the playoffs started and as we stated in that article, we'll be doing a new edition after each round of the playoffs.
Of course, as we get deeper into the playoffs, the number of mascots on the list will decrease, so this week we've only got eight mascots to rank and they'll be ranked by what they did from the start of the first round up to this point rather than something like appearance, for example.

8. Blades the Bruin, Boston Bruins
The Bruins might be moving on, but their mascot was no existent in the first round.
7. Iceburgh, Pittsburgh Penguins
Name a more iconic duo to get a team and the crowd pumped up. We'll wait.
6. ThunderBug, Tampa Bay Lightning
Not only did ThunderBug grow a playoff beard for the Lightning's playoff run, but Tampa Bay's mascot also showed great sportsmanship after the first round win over the Devils.
5. Slapshot, Washington Capitals
We didn't anticipate the rankings working out this way, but that's just how the cookie crumbles and Slapshot takes the crown as far as the Eastern Conference mascots go.
4. SJ Sharkie, San Jose Sharks
The Duck Hunt outfit for San Jose's first round series against the Ducks couldn't have been more perfect. Well played Sharkie, well played.
3. Mick E. Moose, Winnipeg Jets
Who else can't wait for this series for the battles on social media between these two?
2. Gnash, Nashville Predators
If you want chirps, Gnash provides them. If you want entertainment, Gnash provides it. Simply put, there's nothing Gnash can't do, but there was one mascot that just did it better in the first round.
1. Chance, Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights were the talk of the first round of the playoffs and unless the Sharks defeat them in the second round, it might be hard for anyone to knock Chance off the top of the mountain.
