It’s been a long time since we’ve seen someone love winning the Stanley Cup quite as much as Washington Capitals’ sniper Alex Ovechkin. The long-time Caps forward had long been eluded by Lord Stanley until Thursday’s thrilling 4-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights, securing the franchise’s first championship.
Since then, it’s been a love affair between Ovi and the Cup. We’ve always known that he’s played with passion and emotion, but seeing just how happy he is after the final seconds ticked off the clock makes it hard to cheer against the lovable Russian.
On the flight home to Washington, a few pictures emerged of Ovechkin clearly living his best life.
Of course, you don’t want to leave out his other major piece of hardware – the Conn Smythe Trophy
There’s no doubt we’ll see the love grow between Ovi and his newest trophies, but for now we’ll enjoy the barrage that’s flowing in.
