Auston Matthews’ star continues to rise.
After earning All-Star captaincy for the Atlantic Division and inking a lavish five-year contract with the Leafs this past season, he’ll grace the cover of NHL 20 as the game’s new cover athlete.
EA Sports unveiled the first look at NHL 20 and the cover starring Matthews at the NHL Awards.
This is the first time ever that a Leafs player has been the worldwide cover athlete on EA’s NHL series. Of course, with the level of play he’s at, it’s certainly well-earned for Matthews. He follows P.K. Subban, who was last year’s cover star.
