Auston Matthews has made history this season once again.
The 21-year-old has been off to a historical start this season with nine goals through his first five games, and kept the ball rolling on Saturday night against the Washington Capitals. Matthews notched his tenth of the season in the third period, and joined some incredibly elite company with the goal. The American became just the fifth player in the modern NHL era to score at least 10 goals through the first six games of the season, joining Bobby Hull, Mike Bossy, Dino Ciccarelli and Mario Lemieux as the only players to do so.

Speaking of 'The Great One', Aussie surpassed him in his last game on another impressive NHL list as well. With three points against the Red Wings on Thursday, Matthews became the youngest player in league history to record multi-point games in each of his team’s five first contests of the season.
Matthews' goal proved to be the final one of tonight’s game, as the Leafs battled their way to a 4-2 victory. It’s safe to say that the young pheonome and his teammates are scoring at a pretty remarkable rate right now.
