The Toronto Maple Leafs experienced quite the scare on Monday but lucky for them, everything was okay.

New line-mates Nick Foligno and Auston Matthews collided at full speed near centre ice and the impact was so great that the former’s stick actually broke. Neither player was injured and they were eventually able to laugh it off, however, the actual play looked like it could have been a lot worse.

To give you some perspective, that’s a 6’0, 211 lbs train running into a 6’3, 220 wall of muscle. In case any if you every questioned Matthews’ centre of gravity… no you know he’s pretty darn solid for a goal-scorer. Now what would happen if him and Ovi crossed paths?!

That would have been really unfortunate if the Leafs lost two of their best forwards like that heading into the playoffs. Luckily everyone is okay!
