Nurses play an extremely important role in our everyday lives and that’s especially showing right now during a global pandemic. People around the world have been thanking healthcare workers in many different ways since all of this started, and this Wednesday we’ll get the opportunity to thank them for their contributions with National Nurse Day.
Although it’s still a couple of days away, past and present professional athletes across North America have already started showing healthcare workers some love by placing their names over the nameplate on their jerseys.
Wayne Gretzky is just one of the many athletes who have already showed some support by joining the cause, and that number is only going to grow leading up to Wednesday.
Athletes across the world have already signed on to support the cause with representatives from the ATP, MLS, MLB, NASCAR, NBA, NFL, NHL, NWSL, USGA, WNBA, WTA and WWE, as well as various esports leagues.
