There have been a lot of ugly hockey helmets in all the years of the NHL. In fact, there’s a surprising amount considering players have only had to wear them for 40 years.

Just recently, we wrote a list about some of the dustiest hockey helmets of all-time, but that’s the thing about hockey helmets; just when you think you’ve seen every dusty bucket the hockey world has to offer, another one rears it’s ugly head.

The latest was actually protecting Mats Naslund’s head and it came across of our feed because today is actually a special anniversary for the former Hab.

Yes, he helped the Montreal Canadiens win their 23rd Stanley Cup and he looked terrible doing it.

Now you may think that is a little harsh, but that’s actually why we love it. It seems that hockey players have a tendency to like the old, ugly, gritty players and equipment and this Torspo helmet is no difference. Honestly, it’s possible that this thing inspired the movie RoboCop. It seems unlikely, but this picture was taken in 1986 and the film was released in 1987. The resemblance is uncanny.

Jesse, I hope you’re reading this, because you’ve got some new TikTok material.
