Pierre-Edouard Bellemare got hit in the face with a puck recently, at first, it appeared as if it hadn’t got him too badly. That feeling has quickly changed.

You can see the photo from the night of the event where Bellemare was hit. He required three stiches, but it appeared if maybe it just grazed him, opening up a small cut and that was that. Bellemare himself downplayed the whole thing.

Just a reminder, a player shot a puck off of his face and he responded by saying it was "nothing". Then he went back on his merry way and continued to play hockey. We suppose this stuff shouldn't surprise us anymore after hearing all of the injuries that players reveal after their playoff runs, but it still does. If you're not quite sold, we'll jump forward in time a little bit.

Now, a couple days later, you can see how it definitely connected with the side of his face pretty hard. From his cheek to his nose there is discolouration and even his eye is bloodshot. That’s hockey players for you.

Bellemare is already showing off the playoff mentality that the Golden Knights are shockingly going to need while continuing to lead the Western Conference in points.
