Being an ump in the MLB is a tough ask, particularly when you’re behind home plate. With hundreds of pitches thrown every single game, often times right on the border of the strike zone, it’s improbable that you’ll get through a whole nine innings without at least one person walking away shaking their head in disagreement.

It’s understood that human error exists in baseball, but fans, analysts, and players are really at their wits end with one ump in particular.

Angel Hernandez has been the centre of controversy a number of times over his career as an umpire. Here are some examples…

On Wednesday, Hernandez was back in the headlines after appearing to blow a strike call in bottom of the 9th inning. With the Miami Marlins down by two and trying to rally, Brian Anderson received a TOUGH strike three call from Hernandez and was not happy about it at all.

Even the New York Mets commentators were on the side of Anderson, and they went all in on Hernandez.
