With the Summer Olympics set to take place in Tokyo this summer, Canada’s basketball team gained a key asset that could definitely aid them in qualifying for the games.
Thornhill native and Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins took to Instagram Monday to announce that he has committed to play for Team Canada this summer.
With the elimination of the Warriors from the NBA play-in tournament, Wiggins has shifted his role over to help the Great White North attempt to qualify for the summer games from June 29th to July 4th.
Honestly, this is pretty cool!
Not only will Wiggins be joining Team Canada, but he’ll join Nick Nurse along with many other talented players as they strive to qualify for the Olympics.
