All-time NFL nice guy Andrew Luck strikes again. Following the shock announcement of his decision to retire — which has been received with controversy among Colts fans and the football world — Luck has taken out a full-page newspaper ad in the Indianapolis Star to thank Colts fans.

"It has been the honor of a lifetime to represent the Colts and the city of Indianapolis on the world's stage," writes Luck. "I'm proud to be a Midwesterner, a Hoosier, and a Colt."

When the news went public, Luck was on the sideline with his teammates for a preseason game and walked off the field to boos from some unhappy Colts fans. Even still, it isn’t surprising that he would reach out with this kind of gesture — there have still been plenty of Colts fans showing their appreciation for Luck after his decision, and this is Andrew Luck we’re talking about after all!

And you can see just how greatly Luck is regarded around the league from the comments being made by his peers. Aaron Rodgers strongly defended Luck after the initial reaction from Colts fans, and Luck’s own teammate T.Y. Hilton is going to dedicate this season to his “best friend.”
