Andrei Vasilevskiy is widely considered to be one of the best, if not THE best goaltender in the NHL. The 26-year-old is a key part of the Tampa Bay Lightning team looking to defend its 2nd franchise Stanley Cup, and he’s doing a pretty darn good job.

With a rock solid team playing in front of him, including reigning Conn Smythe Trophy recipient and perpetual Norris Trophy candidate Victor Hedman, Vasilevskiy has lived up to the hype in 2020-21. In the last month, Vasilevskiy has gone a perfect 12-0-0.

That’s good for the Tampa Bay Lightning’s franchise record, and only 6 goaltender have ever had a longer win streak in the NHL.

The Bolts’ next three opponents are the Dallas Stars (10-11-8), the Carolina Hurricanes (21-7-3), and the Columbus Blue Jackets (13-13-7). There are no back-to-backs in that time, so there’s a good chance Vasilevskiy starts all three.

Regardless of whether he breaks any NHL records, we repeat, Vasilevskiy is a darn good goalie.
