Professional athletes and sports franchises around the world are always stepping up throughout the year by giving back to the community and helping those in need, and the generous efforts always increase during the holiday season.

With Christmas right around the corner, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Andre Roberson did something extremely generous and thoughtful ahead of his team’s home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night.

Earlier this week the 27-year-old organized an event where he took grandparents who are raising grandchildren on a shopping spree at Target and that’s where he met Shirley. What made Shirley stand out from everyone else at the event was the fact that she wanted to legally adopt her grandchildren but couldn’t afford the huge processing free. Well, that was all Roberson had to hear as he went forward and handed her a check worth $7,500, the exact amount of the processing fee.
