The NHL returned from their All-Star break earlier this week and teams and players across the league are finding different ways to honour Kobe Bryant and the victims of Sunday’s tragic accident.

About 30 miles down the road from Los Angeles, the Anaheim Ducks were playing host to the Arizona Coyotes. Since it was the Ducks’ annual Los Angeles Angels Night, members of the ball club were in attendance for a ceremonial faceoff, which took place right before a tribute for Kobe and the victims.

Fans throughout the building turned on the flashlight on their phones and held them up to the sky to light up the venue, all while pausing for a 24-second moment of silence.

A very touching tribute.

On Sunday night, both Trae Young and Devin Booker attempted 24 field goals each, combined for 81 points, and finished with 8 rebounds. On Wednesday night something a little eerily similar happened in Anaheim.

The Ducks won 4-2, with No. 24 Carter Rowney scoring on the 24th shot of the night in what happened to be the Ducks’ 24th home game of the season.
