It’s not easy being a doctor. Medical professionals are often tasked the most grim situations, and are asked to try their best to solve them. Even then, some days are worse than others. For Dr. Hassan McMasri, the worst night of his medical career thus far came on the heels of one of Canada’s worst sports tragedies.
Dr. McMasri was one of the doctors on scene following the Humboldt Broncos bus crash, an accident that took the lives of 14 and injured 15 more. On Saturday, Dr. McMasri released a statement explaining his perspective, and thanking those involved in the support and rescue efforts.
The heartbreaking account gives a glimpse of what it was like to be at the scene. In response to the open statement, Dr. McMasri and the entire medical response team received a lot of supportive response.
