The Carolina Hurricanes revealed a third jersey earlier this season, so most people assumed they were done with their offseason reveals but they were very, very wrong.
Since Thomas Dundon became owner of the team, there have been rumblings that the team might explore some kind of tribute to their heritage and now it’s all happening. The Hurricanes will host a “Whalers Night” in which they will wear the green Whalers jerseys. It remains to be seen if they will use Brass Bonanza as their goal song, but we’ll take this one step at a time.
That’s also a quick reminder that Justin Williams is the new captain of the Hurricanes (Even though last year’s combo of captains are still with the team).
The jersey is looking great and we’re hoping this starts a trend in the league. Basically anybody who plays the NHL video games has rocked every team’s throwback jerseys at some point and the Hartford threads were always a nice option.
Now, bring back the goal song.
Maybe the Jets should try something like this with their classic jersey as well. People might like it a little more than what they came out with already.
