After only appearing once in his rookie season last year during a meaningless Weak 17 game, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II has taken the NFL by storm this season.

We could talk by ourselves about the kind of numbers that he’s been posting, but instead, let’s defer to the experts, who point out that no quarterback has ever had this kind of start to their career.

Considering Mahomes did little in his cameo last season, we’re talking about someone who has just lit up opponents through the first two weeks of the 2018 season. He opened with four passing TDs against the Chargers, then one-upped himself by racking up six of those things against the Steelers on Sunday.

Ten. That’s ten touchdowns in just two games, and nobody else has ever done that to start to their career.

His passing chart from Week 1 also shows why Mahomes has been electrifying to watch for so many fans, as the Chiefs have relied on his cannon of an arm to make big deep ball plays.

For those inclined to fantasy football, owners will be happy to know that Mahomes is getting historical numbers on the board in that department, too.

Of course, the usual sample size disclaimer applies — we’re only talking about his first three games here, and even the best first three games of all-time can only count for so much. But, if nothing else, fans have got to be excited for what Mahomes has in store.
