Now that the football season is over, the next sport in line to start up again is baseball, and we imagine fans are pretty excited about that.
That being said, there's a tournament ahead of the regular season that is sure to excite fans of the sport.
The World Baseball Classic is coming up in March and Canada is one of the countries competing in the tournament.
If you look at their roster, though, you may see a name on it that might have you scratching your head.
Freddie Freeman is the name we're talking about, and the reason you might be scratching your head is Freeman was born and raised in California.
Freddie's parents, however, were born in Canada, making him eligible to play for both Canada and the United States at the World Baseball Classic. Rather than play for the States, though, Freeman decided to play for Canada, and there is a very heartfelt reason why he chose to do so, as he shared on Twitter:
What a powerful and moving reason behind Freeman's choice to represent Canada at the World Baseball Classic.
Canada opens up the tournament on March 9th, and you can bet that the entire country and baseball fans will be behind Freeman supporting him.
