The day hockey fans have been waiting for has finally arrived as EA Sports’ NHL 19 has officially hit the shelves around the world.
Like previous releases, this year’s edition of the game has some brand new features that hockey fans will surely love, starting with the ability to play on outdoor rinks, both online and offline.
The outdoor rinks will definitely be a hit, whether you’re playing the offline version with your friends at home, or online against them and many other gamers around the world through one of the new game mode World of CHEL.
The World of CHEL will allow you to go 1v1v1 in a wild free-for-all with NHL ONES, where you’ll fight to climb the leaderboard to become the daily champion. Aside from the new rinks and game mode, gamers will now be able to go all out when it comes to creating their custom character as this year’s game includes over 900 newly-designed pieces of gear so you’ll be able to be as unique as possible when customizing your skater.
There’s also a major improvement in just about every aspect of the game play as NHL 19 stated that the skating has more acceleration, action, speed and responsiveness than in NHL 18. Here’s a look at the new technology, explained by Connor McDavid.
EA Sports game developers have done a good job making the hits more realistic over the years as they’ve manage to eliminate the hits that send guys all the way down to the other end of the ice or 10 feet into the air, but this year they’ve made the hits as real as possible. Here’s a look at the new collision technology, explained by NHL 19 cover athlete PK Subban.
For those of you who love franchise mode, you’re in for a treat this year. In NHL 19, you’ll be able to assemble a team of up to 20 amateur and pro scouts and the choices you make will play a larger role in how you draft, trade, handle free agency and waiver wire pickups.
While creating the game they also made sure to include a #SticksOutForHumboldt tribute in the new game, which appears in the official trailer.
