Two Central Division rivals clashed tonight in what was for the most part a one-sided contest. The Winnipeg Jets travelled to Dallas and handled the Stars with a convincing 5-3 victory. Sophomore sensation Patrik Laine recorded his 30th and 31st goals and the Jets moved into a tie for first in the division with Nashville. Meanwhile, Dallas gave up a critical two points and remain just a point ahead of the Anaheim Ducks for the first wildcard spot in the Western Conference.

Outspoken Stars forward Alex Radulov was interviewed on the team’s Fox network afterward, and provided one of the soundbites of the year when he was asked about his thoughts on the Jets. The Russian was very blunt in his response.

That didn’t exactly look like an accident, but rather someone who acknowledged his team just got dominated.
The 31-year-old’s frustration with the team is understandable, given Winnipeg has had Dallas’ number this season. Through three games, the Jets are 3-0 and have outscored their opponent 14-6. Laine has four goals over that stretch.

Winnipeg has found themselves in unfamiliar territory this year, as they’re poised to potentially make a run in the postseason. At this time in year’s past, the Jets have typically been on the other end of things, but things are finally starting to look up after a lengthy rebuild. Even if players haven’t phrased it the same way, others have likely thought the exact same words after a tough loss to the Jets this season.
