The Washington Nationals went into Game 4 of their NL Division Series matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers in a win-or-go-home situation so they knew exactly who to turn to for the ceremonial first pitch.

With the season on the line they needed someone who would be able to deliver a pitch that would get the entire building on their feet so they turned to one of the most respected athletes in Washington in Alexander Ovechkin.

Ovechkin’s ceremonial first pitch was a lot better this time around as he didn’t need a re-do (he also wasn’t celebrating a Stanley Cup victory).

The Dodgers jumped out to the early lead, but that didn’t last very long.

The Nationals can force a deciding Game 5 with a victory, while the Dodgers can advance to the NL Championship Series with a win.
