Life is good for Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals right now.
For the first time in his 13-year career Ovechkin is experiencing what it’s like to play in the Eastern Conference Final and he’s doing whatever he can to make sure the opportunity doesn’t go to waste. Since this is the furthest the Capitals have ever gone during his career, the team as a whole are doing whatever it takes not to mess around with the good juju.
Before getting the morning skate underway, the players and coaches stand off to the side and wait for their captain to get in one hot lap. As soon as he crosses the finish line, practice gets underway.
It’s worked so far for them so no point in changing things up now after coming this far.
