The Houston Astros have had many of their bright stars breakout over the past few years with one of them being third baseman and shortstop Alex Bregman.
The 24-year-old is in the middle of his second full season with the Astros and is on pace for a career year as he’s hit six home runs and 27 RBI in 60 games to go along with a .260 batting average and .373 OBP. Ahead of the team’s home game against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night, the 2017 World Series champion made a special announcement as he broke the news to his younger brother, A.J., that the team had drafted him in the 35th round of this year’s MLB Draft.
After breaking the news to his younger brother, Alex spoke to KPRC 2 Houston about the team selecting his younger brother and weighed in on if he’s ever gone head-to-head against him since he happens to be a pitcher.
A.J. isn’t the only sibling the team drafted this year as they also ended up taking Carlos Correa’s brother, J.C., in the 33rd round.
