The Grey Cup droughts, the unorthodox roads to get to the Grey Cup, the battle of two players that were once traded for each other in coaches Mike O’Shea and Orlando Steinhauer. There were 1,000 story lines heading into Sunday’s Grey Cup, but possibly none more entertaining than “Shorts Guy”.

Chris Matthew made a deal with some friends that he wouldn’t put on any pants until the Winnipeg Blue Bombers won the Grey Cup. As you may expect, he became known as “Shorts Guy” as a result, and unfortunately for Chris the Bombers happened to be in the 1st half of their ridiculous drought.

The bet was made in 2001. In 2019, he finally got to slip on some pants.

It kind of looks like he forgot how to put on pants, or maybe he’d just had a few soda pops. Either way, this adds to the incredible moment of a long drought finally getting broken.

It’s Pants Guy now.
