This upcoming Saturday marks the 70th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the colour barrier in baseball when he suited up for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Each year Major League Baseball honours the late legend on April 15th, Jackie Robinson Day.
On the day, every player in the league dons the number 42 on their back, with some players even electing to wear specialized Jackie Robinson cleats as a form of tribute. This year Adidas has released a wonderful special edition baseball cleat to mark the occasion.
The cleat includes a number of special details, such as Robinson's signature which is written in gold script on the upper, as well as the former Dodger's stats which are located on the heel tab of the shoe.
The cleat goes on sale later this week.
