From the NBA to the NHL to European soccer clubs, plenty of professional sports franchises have jumped on the eSports bandwagon and have invested in the rapidly growing business. The Boston Bruins, the Golden State Warriors and the New York Yankees are a few teams that have invested over the past couple of years and now we can add the first junior hockey team to the ever-growing list.

On Tuesday evening, the 2018 Memorial Cup champion Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced that they’re diving into the eSports industry with the launch of Titan Gaming.

While they’re still looking for sponsorship for Titan Gaming, they’ve already started assembling a team that consists of EA NHL Feedback Gamechanger, Jonathan “Oohwayy” Monopoli and YouTube/Streamer P.K. “TDI” Carino.

It’s an interesting approach by the Acadie-Bathurst Titan considering young players were recently told to keep their gaming habits on the down low, but the eSports team wont consist of any of the actual players so it won’t be an issue.
