Aaron Rodgers is about to embark on his 15th season in the NFL, but before that, his alma mater revealed a brand new locker room funded by a seven-figure donation from Rodgers. Because what is 15 years of NFL money good for, if not giving back?
You can see just how much the aptly-named Aaron Rodgers Locker Room means to the college players, too. It’s a dang sight better than any locker room we’ve ever stepped foot in before, that’s for sure.
College football locker rooms are just something else. With that said, when it comes to seating a team of 100 beefy boys — and landing the best recruits, of course — facilities like this can go a long way towards keeping the pipeline strong.
In an endearing touch, Cal will also reserve a locker room stall for their departed teammate Bryce Turner. The 20-year-old defensive back passed after collapsing during a non-team workout in January.
This is just one outcome from Rodgers’ greater efforts to give back, in addition to a scholarship established in his name for a junior college transfer every season. (Rodgers, himself, was a JUCO transfer.)
Good guy Aaron Rodgers! When he isn’t busy paying it forward, you can catch him hitting up team functions as Hal from Happy Gilmore or shouting out Cabbie with the Canadian tuxedo.
