We knew about Paige Bueckers, the YouTube sensation and No. 1 recruit who has been top of mind for anyone following college women’s hoops this season. That she’s carried her success over to the NCAA tournament is no surprise.

Alongside Bueckers, young Canadian star Aaliyah Edwards has stepped up with some absolutely remarkable performances in UConn’s first two wins. The Huskies were college basketball’s No. 1-ranked team this year, and if they can continue to get this kind of production from Edwards, they might just be the last ones left dancing.

Against High Point in UConn's first round game, Edwards double-doubled with 17 points and 12 rebounds, going 8-for-10 from the field. In her next game, she dropped 19 against Syracuse — making all five shots from the field and going to the line a ridiculous 12 times as well.

That’s who Aaliyah Edwards is: An absolute bully inside with great touch and want for the ball. She earned Sixth Woman of the Year honours in her conference as well as a nod to the All-Freshman Team. For more, check out our profile of Edwards’ rise from before the tournament.

So far, UConn has blown out their first two tournament opponents with no trouble at all, but Bueckers and Edward will face off with another one of college basketball's top freshman in No. 5 Iowa's Caitlin Clark. It promises to be one of the most exciting games of the tournament yet.
