Leafs fans have been very excited about Travis Dermott, but nobody was more excited than Travis Dermott about his first NHL goal last night.

In a sequence that he started and finished, Dermott, in his ninth NHL game, scored his first goal last night against the New York Islanders and the whole team went crazy. However, you don’t even need to watch it to understand how exciting a moment it was for Dermott or the team (Although you can click here if you’d like to), because this picture says 1,000 words.

Dermott tried to explain the moment after the game, but he it was such a rush that he could barely remember it himself. We’re not sure he knew how big the moment had become online, but he clearly remembered the same moment that most other people will, when his chinstrap somehow wound up in his mouth and he made the most excited face we may have ever seen.

That wasn’t the only goal he was celebrating that hard for either.  His defence partner with the Marlies, Justin Holl was playing his first NHL game and he scored his first goal as well. Matthews mentioned that Dermott seems to celebrate everyone’s goals like crazy, but this one definitely seemed extra special.
