Vladimir Guerrero Jr. should probably not be in the minor leagues and one pitcher in the Arizona Fall League probably feels that way more than any other.

Tyler Mark, a relief pitcher in the Diamondbacks organization, was on the mound last night and was facing Vladdy Jr. This is obviously a scary matchup for any pitcher at the moment, but what ended up happening was much scarier than anyone thought it would be. Mark ended up getting hit in the head with a liner and we have no idea how he was able to walk off the field afterword.

Just a warning, the sound on the video is pretty brutal.

As we said, we’re not sure how he was able to walk away from that one so quick.

One of the only things more shocking is the same thing we mentioned at the top of this article: that Vladdy is still in the minors. After last night, he’s hitting .667 with four doubles and a 1.811 OPS. What’s going to be even crazier is when/if he starts next year in AAA again…
