As the NBA playoffs are about to tip off, players around the league are making their preparations. Presumably, this includes opponent team scouting, but of course, this also means ensuring that the footwear stays fresh.
Nobody may have nicer kicks than New Orleans Pelicans reserve center Cheick Diallo, who received a unique pair of Black Panther-inspired Adidas Crazy Explosive shoes from shoe customizer Kickstradomis:
Although two months have passed since Black Panther released in theaters, the hype still runs strong. We won’t spoil the film for anyone that (inexplicably) hasn’t seen it, but Killmonger, the villain played by Michael B. Jordan, had a character arc that was roundly praised by viewers and critics. Clearly, his signature mask looks great on a pair of shoes, too. (Holy, the detailing!)
Unfortunately, as a one-of-one custom design by Kickstradomis, this colorway of the shoe won’t be available for sale. We may not see them on court, either -- Diallo, a fringe member of the Pelicans rotation in the regular season, is no lock to appear in the team’s first round series against the Portland Trail Blazers.
We may, however, see Jordan Bell’s T’Challa-inspired shoes, also from Kickstradomis:
With Avengers: Infinity War set to release at the end of April, here’s hoping we get a follow-up shoe from Kickstradomis. There are something like 20 superheroes on the film’s poster alone; can you put 20 superheroes on one pair of shoes?
The most ambitious crossover event in shoe design history.
