We're all for funny referee/player moments, but this one that happened Tuesday night during the Stars' 3-0 win in Florida over the Panthers is one Jamie Benn probably didn't find funny in the moment.
In the 1st period of the game, Benn was skating by the Panthers' bench and one of the linesman just so happened to be sitting on the bench presumably to ensure he wouldn't be involved in the play. As the linesman was sitting on the bench, he made a call and clotheslined Benn in the process.
We've always wondered what the game of hockey would look like with a splash of WWE in it and we like what we saw in this case.
In all seriousness, it's good Benn was able to laugh off the clothesline and as we've seen in the past, it could have been worse, like clothesline yourself with your own stick worse.
