Cody Fajardo came into the 2019 CFL season with little in the way of expectations. In his three previous seasons in the league, Fajardo slipped into the backup role on the Toronto Argonauts. 2017 was his most productive year as a passer where he through a grand total of 30 passes.
Fajardo broke out in a big way after starter Zach Collaros went down with a brutal concussion. While the story of Winnipeg’s win in the Western Final over Saskatchewan became Collaros beating his old team, it shouldn’t take away from the things Fajardo was able to do under centre for the Riders.
After the heartbreaking loss, Fajardo shared a message with the league’s most passionate fan base.
One things for sure, Riderville couldn’t have expected anything more than what Fajardo gave them this year.
