Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Patrick Mahomes has been making quite the name for himself within the sports world. Just this past July, Mahomes had joined the Kansas City Royals ownership group becoming one of the youngest owners in sports history.
Though when Mahomes signed on as a part-owner of the club, we don’t think many people anticipated that the Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback would have his own Royals branded merchandise for fans to buy.
On Tuesday evening, a fan posted a photo online of the Kansas City Royals section of his local sports store in Missouri.
In a sea of Patrick Mahomes number 15 jerseys, there is not one active Royals player’s merchandise able to be seen anywhere. Now it is currently the offseason for the MLB and Mahomes’ Chiefs are currently first in the AFC West, so maybe it’s just the Royals showing support for their city’s football team!
What makes this situation even funnier is that Royals’ outfielder Whit Merrifield called out the sports store online, all in good fun of course.
But it gets even better, folks.
Patrick Mahomes decided to join in on the fun and responded to Merrifield’s tweet.
The Super Bowl Champion and MVP is probably the most popular person in not only Kansas City but the state of Missouri, so it’s only right for him to have his own Royals gear, right?
