The NHL playoffs are quickly approaching but the regular season isn’t done just yet.

Every team in the league has a different amount of games remaining on their schedule, with that number sitting in double digits for every team in the league. Regardless of how many games each team has left in the regular season, there’s still plenty of times for milestones to be reached before the playoffs roll around.

Patrick Marleau

Patrick Marleau is closing in one of the greatest records in NHL history and one that most people thought would never be broken. With 14 games remaining on the Sharks’ schedule Marleau needs to suit up for just three more games to set the NHL’s all-time record for most games played.

On top of closing in on the NHL’s all-time record for most regular season games played, the franchise’s leader in just about every offensive category needs just four more points to become the 50th player in league history to join the 1,200-point club.

One of Marleau’s longtime teammates in Joe Thornton is closing in on a personal milestone, as well. Sitting at 1,098 career assists, Jumbo Joe needs two more apples this season to become just the 7th player in NHL history to record 1,100 or more assists during their career.

Anze Kopitar

Anze Kopitar is one of the greatest Los Angeles Kings of all-time and he’s not done yet. He set the tone off the bat by scoring 61 points as a 19-year-old rookie and has only finished with less than 60 points in a full season once during his 15-year career. With 43 points in 42 games so far this year, the two-time Stanley Cup champion needs just seven more points to join the 1,000-point club.

Phil Kessel

Phil Kessel is currently chasing down the NHL’s all-time ‘Ironman’ streak, but that’s not going to happen until next year, if he were to break the record. But Phil the Thrill is chasing down a personal milestone at the moment as the two-time Stanley Cup champion needs just five more points to join the 900-point club. He’s also just 13 goals away from 400 for his career, but that’ll also likely have to wait until next season, too.

Zdeno Chara

Patrick Marleau isn’t the only player chasing down a games played milestone this season. While Marleau is about to set the NHL’s all-time record, Zdeno Chara is about to join a pretty legendary class of his own as he’s just four games shy of joining the 1,600-games played list. With Big Zee likely to join the club next week, he’ll become just the 13th player in NHL history to play 1,600 games or more, and just the 5th defenceman to hit the mark.

Tuukka Rask

Tuukka Rask has played just 15 games this season and has played just one game since March 7, but he’s knocking on the door of the 300-win club. With eight wins on the season, Rask sits at 299 career wins in 530 starts and can become the sixth active goalie to win 300 regular season games with one more victory, and the first Bruins goalie to win 300 games.

Marc-Andre Fleury

Marc-Andre Fleury is fresh off becoming the fourth winningest goalie in NHL history and there’ s a very good chance he moves into third before the month is over as he’s just four wins back of Roberto Luongo on the list.

Flower needs just 14 more starts for 900 career starts, 15 more wins to become the third goalie in NHL history to win 500 games, and four more shutouts to 70 for his career.
