Despite all of the negative attention that seems to follow him around the NHL, Phil Kessel has become one of those NHL players that all fans seem to like.
He seems to be simultaneously one of the most relatable players in the NHL (his desire to enjoy himself and have hobbies outside of hockey) and one of the most mysterious. It has gone as far as the subreddit “Temple of the Phil” in which hockey fans just praise him and all his idiosyncrasies and the latest chapter is in the mansion that he put up for sale in Pittsburgh.
The first photo (and best photo) from the mansion to go viral was the one of his theatre room that had only one seat. It’s perfect.
But here are four more items you may have missed in the listing:
USA Mannequins
This is the weirdest one and is just very confusing. We can’t even imagine how many times the average person might get spooked at night when they think for a split second that there are two humans standing in their basement.
Speed Painting
This is the painting that Phil Kessel received on his second day with the Stanley Cup. We just love that he kept the painting.
Glitter Poster
This movie has a 2.2/10 on IMDB, a 7% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 14% Metacritic score. We’re not just surprised Kessel has a poster of it in his house, we’re surprised anyone does.
Wedding Crashers Poster
This is definitely a popular movie, we just love the thought that maybe it inspired Kessel to crash some weddings of his own. That is the next step in his world building, he starts showing up at random weddings around the world and he’s the most entertaining guest at every single one.
Phil Kessel is the best.
