In case you missed it, Anthony Davis wants out of New Orleans. On Monday, it was revealed that the 25-year-old requested a trade and made it known to the Pelicans that he wouldn't sign an extension come the offseason. New Orleans basically has no choice but to deal him in order to get something back for the big man rather than letting him walk away for nothing.
There were a number of teams that had been linked to Davis before this news came out (Lakers, Celtics, Warriors), but now that the news of the trade request has been made public, fans of almost every team in the NBA are using the "trade machine" to see how AD could land on their team.
Sending AD to the Lakers, Raptors, or Celtics is crazy, but it's nothing compared to sending him to the Warriors and Golden State wouldn't have to give up a ton to make it happen (theoretically speaking).
In this specific scenario, Golden State would be losing three key depth pieces, but they'd also be adding another one of the ten-best players in the NBA.
The trade machine is nothing but a tool to assist armchair general manages in making their wildest trade fantasies a reality, but it's interesting nonetheless that from a money standpoint, there's a way to get Davis on the Warriors.
