The Boston Marathon is one of the running’s most marquee events. The annual 42.2km race from Hopkinton to the John Hancock Tower has provided some incredible moments, as well as one of the most tragic events in sports history when bombers targeted the race to inspire #BostonStrong. On Monday, the Boston Marathon offered unique conditions as runners and spectators alike braved frigid conditions in Massachusetts to keep the tradition alive.

The weather, while unpleasant to be in, did offer some incredible snapshots showcasing resilience and perseverance.

Despite the aesthetics, we’re hoping for better weather next year – for everyone’s sake.
