Baseball, generally speaking, isn’t really thought of as a dangerous sport. Pretty much the only dangerous part about it is if you are actually struck by the ball (or a stray bat).

Kevin Pillar was the victim of a scary play involving just that. Standing in the batter’s box in the 7th inning, the New York Mets outfielder took a 94 MPH Jacob Webb pitch to the face. Immediately, blood started pouring out of his nose.

A scary moment, for sure. The good news is that Pillar was able to walk off the field under his own power, and he didn’t look too wobbly in doing so. We can’t speculate on whether or not he’s okay, but those are at least good signs.

Hoping the former fan favourite in Toronto makes a quick recovery!
