We all know that hockey players are warriors. We all know that they play through ridiculous injuries. We all know that Zdeno Chara is a tough as nails, and will do just about anything to help his team.
That includes playing through a ridiculous injury, one that is even worse than we thought.
We knew that he had been struck in the face by a puck, and that the result was a broken jaw. What we didn’t know is that he had multiple fractures to his jaw, and that he actually needed plates and wires to hold his jaw together.
Can’t imagine what that would have felt like, but it’s certainly not comfortable. Regardless of whether it was the smart thing to do or not, it certainly gained a lot of respect.
