In 2016, Zach LaVine became the first NBA player to ever win consecutive Slam Dunk Contests at All-Star Weekend, and he showed us that he had all kinds of free throw line dunks in his assortment of tricks while doing it. Windmills from the free throw line, between-the-legs from the free throw line... all light work for LaVine.

There were some reports that LaVine received an invite to this year's dunk contest, but barring a surprise cameo, he won’t be among the four participants facing off on Saturday. (Those four will be reigning champ Derrick Jones Jr., Pat Connaughton, Aaron Gordon and Dwight Howard.)

If he could pull this off in a dunk contest though, we’re feeling pretty sure that he would have his third title in the bag.

It’s definitely a shame that LaVine won’t be among this year’s dunkers, especially since the All-Star festivities are being held in Chicago and he plays for the Bulls.

We would’ve especially loved to see a rematch in the dunk contest between LaVine and Gordon this year, after those two delivered one of the best dunk-offs in memory during 2016’s All-Star Weekend in Toronto. Their dunk contest went to two tie-breakers!
