Cale Makar emerged onto the scene in a big way when he joined the Colorado Avalanche for 10 games in the 2018-19 Stanley Cup playoffs. He showed his playmaking abilities and even scored a goal in his first game, but for some fans the most memorable moment was the fan holding up a whole stock of kale in tribute to the young star.
Turns out Makar’s diet isn’t too far off of the kale diet, he doesn’t seem to like junk food at all. In fact, his diet is seemingly so strict that he even went so far as to call a slurpee an “impulse buy”.
Most of us would just buy the slurpee and forget about it the next day, but Cale remembers it as an actual moment. There’s something about an answer that innocent and pure that is really refreshing to hear.
Avs fans will take a healthy off-ice lifestyle from their young stars any day, probably means he’ll be healthier on the ice as well!
