It went right down to the wire but the Toronto Maple Leafs and William Nylander agreed to terms on a brand new deal minutes before the deadline on Saturday afternoon. While it took much longer than expected, Leafs fans were still pretty pumped up about the news and are now eagerly awaiting his return to the lineup.
On Sunday afternoon, the 22-year-old officially landed in Toronto and it’s a sight that will make every Leafs fan even more ecstatic than they already are.
This all comes just under 24 hours after Nylander and the Leafs made the deal official, but it’s better to get the deal done late than not at all.
Nylander is coming off a season where he scored 20 goals and totaled 61 points in 82 games, and has 48 goals and 135 points in 185 career games.
