William Nylander hopes fellow teammates and pending RFAs Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner don't have to experience the same hurdles during their contract negotiations as he did prior to signing with the club on December 1st
Speaking with TSN's Gino Reda in a one-on-one interview, Nylander offered up some sound recommendations that Matthews and Marner can be conscious of throughout the negotiating process.
"Just get it done before the season starts, said to Reda" That's probably the one thing you'd want, to get it out of the way."
Nylander, of course, missed all of training camp and the first 28 games of the 2018/19 after failing to come to terms with the Leafs throughout the summer.
The 22-year-old has notched just a pair of assists in five games since inking the six-year, $45 million extension and explained to Reda.
"I'm staring to feel better and better every game, so hopefully I'm there within the next few games - I'm starting to feel pretty good."
In his first five games of the season, Nylander has amassed 12:29,16:30, 16:33, 16:00 and 17:24 in ice time per outing.
