NHL referee Wes McCauley has become a sensation during games for his emphatic annunciations of no goals.
The offside review has taken on a life of it’s own, and it struck during Sunday’s NHL All-Star game when Erik Karlsson had his second marker taken away. People on Twitter couldn’t actually believe that they were reviewing a call during the an all-star game, but with a $ 1million on the line, the league wasn’t going to let it slide.
The stage was then set for McCauley, who was on hand to ref the mini games. And wouldn’t you know it, McCauley struck again.
Karlsson’s reaction speaks for everyone, but it's still funny to see Wes have some fun with all the controversy around offside reviews these days.
The goal didn’t really matter, as the Atlantic beat the Metropolitan Division 7-4.
