Whenever NHL teams are sent packing from the playoffs they end up releasing a report of all the injuries their players sustained and/or played through during the postseason.
Now, we don’t ever recommend pushing yourself to play through an injury, and we still don’t know how professional athletes manage to do it, but it’s going to continue happening year after year.
On Thursday morning, Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nil confirmed that Tyler Seguin sustained a torn labrum in his hip during the playoffs, which he played through, and that he could miss up to four months if he goes ahead with surgery.
Stars fans started to suspect that something was up with Seguin when their team continued to win games without his name ever popping up in the goal column, but now it all makes more sense.
It’s unknown what the recovery time will be like without surgery, but either way there’s a very good chance the Stars will be without Seguin if the league is able to start up again on their target date of January 1.
